Window Shopping: 1st Dibs

Happy Quarantine Day 60. How are you surviving? I have to say, I think the substitute teacher is more excited for summer break than her students! But the Mom in me is absolutely loving the special time with them. And dare I say it? I think they’re closer than ever because of it.

I’m missing girls night outs, hugs from friends and family, and well, shopping. I don’t care if I even buy anything, there’s something about window shopping. I think it helps reinvigorate your imagination, and gets your juices flowing. I window shopped recently and got myself a new coffee table, so in honor of that I went virtual window shopping at 1st Dibs for coffee tables. Think of 1st Dibs as reduce, reuse, recycle, but with furniture, art, and jewelry. They have everything under the sun, in all the different styles. It’s a wonderful way to purchase an antique or a one-of-a-kind piece. Their sellers are all vetted, so you don’t have to worry about purchasing. So think of it this way, you’re helping to preserve Earth, while also making your home have it’s own character and feel collected.

If you know me, you know I’m all about my music. Wouldn’t this table in a music room not be perfection? You don’t even need a music room, imagine this in your living room? Talk about a conversation starter.

A transitional piece that would work in so many people’s homes. very functional too since it has a glass top.

I love the subtle fluted base.

Ok, so not quite a cocktail table, but hear me out. Imagine these church truck gurneys used as the base of a cocktail table with a clear glass top. Another conversation starter piece of furniture.

This piece almost looks like a piece of tribal jewelry. Let’s call it jewelry for your room.

Just look at the lines on this lucite table. This reminds me of a pair of stacked acrylic lamps I can’t wait to get my hands on from my Mother. Mother, Mother, are you ready to hand them over yet?!! This piece could also be used as a stool.

The chinoiserie motif with the bamboo style legs, and a soft organic shape would look perfect in a room saturated in a dark moody teal. Then paired with a neutral sofa, or go daring with a burnt orange sofa. Can you see it?!!

This piece is so VERSATILE it could work in so many different styles of houses and rooms.

I’m lost in the largest maze of my life, yet i kinda love the feeling of being lost in it.

You can’t go wrong with a campaign chest. I have a brass version similar to this for my son’s room as his nightstand. just put it on a base, and there you go.
